  • Movement to Langkawi Island shall be by air transport, either via Kuala Lumpur or directly to Langkawi Island.
  • Tourists may leave Langkawi Island through the domestic exits (air or sea) on Day 8
  • Fully vaccinated tourists with booster may leave Langkawi Island on Day 5

General Guidelines

General Condition

ALL countriesĀ subject toĀ Entry Requirement to Enter Malaysia.Ā 

Individuals who have beenĀ completely vaccinatedĀ and have passed theĀ 14 -dayĀ period of second dose injection orĀ after 28 daysĀ of single -dose injection (depending on the type of vaccine).

The vaccines approved by the MOHĀ 

Children under the age of 12 can travel with their mother or father/ guardian of each who has been vaccinated.

The following individuals are not allowed to travel under the LangkawiĀ  International Travel Bubble:
āœ“ Positive for COVID-19 infection;
āœ“ Close contact to positive cases;
āœ“ Individuals subject to a Home Surveillance Order (HSO);
āœ“ Individuals subject to mandatory quarantine;
āœ“ Individuals who recently arrived from high-risk countries; and
āœ“ Those who are symptomatic.

Compulsory Package

Package from MOTAC registered Travel Agency need to be include:

  1. Hotel Booking
  2. Covid-19 Screening Test upon Arrival at Airport
  3. Tour Package (Itinerary)
  4. Tour GuideĀ 
  5. Declaration LetterĀ 

Printed proof of documentation such as payment receipt for the tour package need to be brought along.

Airport & Transit Time

Covid-19 RT-PCR in KLIA/klia2

1. Tourists will wear identification tags tag by the operator of a private health screening test facility at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or klia2

2. Scan the QR code ā€œInternational Tourist of Langkawi Travel Bubble ā€.

3. Tourists need to do a COVID-19 screening test, Rapid Molecular Test (RMT)/Polymerase Chain Reaction Test (RT-PCR) at a private facility at KLIA or klia2.

Covid-19 Screening Test at KLIA/klia2 is Included in Arovis Travel Package

Who pass security checks and screenings can progress to check-in counter and submit the required documents at the Immigration Counter to continue the journey via domestic flight to Langkawi Island from KLIA/klia2

For tourists who had to spend the night at KLIA for reasons that could not avoided such as missed domestic flights, domestic flights are canceled or a domestic flight is tomorrow, they are allowed to stay at Hotel Sama-Sama Express KLIA or SamaSama Express Hotel klia2.Ā 

Transit period is at least 5-6 hours before the next flight. This is to provide sufficient time for screening tests and document examinations by the relevant authorities.

Luggage

The luggage for tourists via KLIA or klia2 must be handled by check-in directly to the final destination of Langkawi Island for airlines that have a code-sharing agreement (codeshare) with Malaysia Airlines or by interline arrangement.Ā 

Timeline

Pre-Departure to Malaysia

Tourists is required to take the RT-PCR COVID-19 / Rapid Molecular Test two (2) days before departing to Malaysia.

Test results should be provided in printed or digital form, in English or Bahasa Melayu and should be shown to the authorities upon request.

Arrival in Malaysia

Tourists with negative results for the RT-PCR / Rapid Molecular Test COVID-19 conducted at the Malaysian Airport (KLIA/klia2/Langkawi International Airport) allowed to continue proceed to the Immigration Department counter.

At the Immigration Department counter, tourists are required to submit the following
documents during inspection:
i. passport;
ii. visa (if necessary);
iii. round trip flight tickets (printed); and
iv. tour/ travel packages (printed)
v. Travel Insurance with minimum protection of 50,000 USD with COVID-19 Coverage
vi. Travel Agent Package (Accommodation, Covid-19 Screening Test in Langkawi, Itinerary)
vii. Covid-19 Negative Screening Test result 2 days before arrival.

Day 1 in Langkawi

Greeted by the Licensed Tour Guide appointed by Arovis Travel at the Arrival Terminal, Langkawi International Airport, Tourist without a Tour Guide cannot leave the Terminal.

Tourist who Full Vaccinated with a Booster may leave Langkawi to any Domestic Destination in Malaysia.

Document inspection to confirm that tourists have been on Langkawi Island for a minimum of five (5) days and Covid-19 Vaccination certificate for Booster should be conducted by the authorities at the exit (air / sea).Ā

Important

International Tourist who want to ENTER Langkawi at the moment will fall under the category of Langkawi Travel Bubble (LTB), and required to do the COVID-19 RT-PCR screening test at the Private Health Facility at the Point of Entry.

Arrival Procedure

Covid-19 Management

You need to stays in Langkawi with minimum of 4 nights before you can depart to any domestic destination in Malaysia on Day 5.

Covid-19 Screening Test

Tourist who had a history of Covid-19 positive within 11 - 60 days before fly to Malaysia will only required to do RTK-Antigen test but must present the letter from the Hospital as a proof.

Yes, the protocol is the same as the adult, but it's exception for children below than 2 years old (birth year)

There is No transit between KLIA and klia2

For example, from Doha using Qatar Airways to KUL and to Langkawi using Air Asia at klia2. This situation can’t be allowed and the tourist will be denied to enter Malaysia by Immigration Department.

No, you're not allowed to collect your luggage at KLIA or klia2 during your transit. Please be advised if you choose to fly from point of departure and book the ticket until Langkawi (fly through) not point to point.

Under Langkawi Travel Bubble protocol and SOP by Immigration Department stated that Traveller(s) cannot collect their check-in luggage at KLIA or klia2. It is advisable for the traveller(s) to check-in their luggage fly through to Langkawi, traveller(s) using other airlines than AirAsia which do not have the facilities to check through their luggage to Langkawi are advised only to travel with hand-carry luggage to avoid denied boarding to Langkawi.

You are advised to book a ticket to Langkawi with 5-6 hours transit time which has stated in the new SOP released by National Security Council of Malaysia dated on 16th February 2022

The Covid-19 Screening test upon your arrival in KLIA or klia2 during your transit is included in the package if you purchase from us.Ā

You can be fined RM1,000 under Act 342 (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988), Malaysia Law if you fail to comply with this condition.

MySejahtera is a mobile application that was built by the Government of Malaysia to aid in managing the COVID-19 outbreak in Malaysia. MySejahtera is managed by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) as the application moderator, with the help of the National Security Council (NSC) and the Malaysian Administration Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU).


The functions of MySejahtera include but not limited to:

  1. Allowing users to perform health assessments for family members that do not have access to any smartphone

  2. Providing guidance to users regarding the actions that would be required to be taken in the event they are classified as high-risk individuals toward COVID-19

  3. Providing health tips and updated information regarding COVID-19

  4. Empowering users to be able to identify COVID-19 ā€œhot-spotā€ locations through the Hotspot Tracker function

  5. Empowering users to be able to obtain health advice through phone lines via virtual means

  6. Providing the MySejahtera Check-In function to aid the registration process at the point-of-entry into business premises and offices in a structured and uniform manner.

  7. Providing the MySejahtera QR Code function as a Digital Health Passport when leaving home, heading to offices or public space

    In general, the information collected will be used to aid the Ministry of Health in planning and performing the required actions in controlling this outbreak. Therefore, users are required to provide genuine and honest information in order for the Ministry of Health to be able to take effective steps that can break the chain of spread of COVID-19.


    The Government of Malaysia reassures and provides assurance that all personal information provided by the users will only be used for the purposes of public health surveillance and to stop the spread of COVID-19 only.

    The data provided is protected under the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act 1988 (Act 342) and Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Private information provided by users will never be shared or distributed to any other party.

MySejahtera Traveler is a module built specially for travelers (Malaysians and Non-Malaysians) who would be returning or visiting Malaysia. This is based on the standard operating procedure developed by the Malaysian government to ensure the COVID19 pandemic is under control upon gradual opening of Malaysian international borders.

1. To ensure travelers completes the health declaration form prior to arriving to Malaysia.

2. Check In at the point of entry (Arrival Check In) using the MySejahtera QR Code Scanner.

3. Performing daily self-assessment throughout the stays in Langkawi with the Covid Status function.
